Additional Cuisinart DCC1000BK 12-Cup Coffeemaker, Black Information

This coffeemaker has all the most sought after features. You can set it up the night before to have coffee ready and waiting when you need to grab a cup quickly in the morning. Or, you can interrupt the brewing cycle if you start it in the morning but just can't wait those few minutes until the end of the cycle. It comes with a permanent filter, and a charcoal water filter. After all if you make a cup of coffee with lousy tasting water, it only stands to reason that the end product will suffer.

What Customers Say About Cuisinart DCC1000BK 12-Cup Coffeemaker, Black:

This coffeemaker is only a couple months old, and we need to throw it away because it mostly steams when we try to brew coffee. It is the messiest coffeemaker we've ever had because the grounds spatter all over the coffeemaker when brewing. We've already had to clean it with vinegar several times, and it reclogs quickly. We've even been using filtered water. It is a horrible design which is a shame. Using this coffeemaker over the last few months has been a HASSLE.

Purchased for my parents, as they had bought three coffee makers in the last year that were all horrible. I bought the previous version of this coffee maker over 4 years ago for my husband and myself and have been extremely pleased with it. Now my parents are as happy as I am - they finally have a great product that they can depend upon. Now, if only I cold find a good toaster.

I have only had this coffee maker for a month but have been very pleased with it. It makes good consistant coffee each time and has been very easy to use.

It is by far the best coffee brewer I have ever owned. The clock isn't lighted. If it died tomorrow I would feel I got every penny's worth out of it and start looking to a duplicate to replace it. I over fill this brewer so that when done brewing the carafe is almost overflowing and have never had coffee grounds go anywhere but in the filter cone. For those of you who paid substantially more and are writing negative reviews it tells me something about your intelligence and your decision making process. I have had this brewer for more than a year now and it works flawlessly. First of all it just blows me away at the number of negative reviews on this product. I don't know what the issue is with stray coffee grounds some reviewers complain about.

I am amazed some of these people can even make coffee much less write a review. It is hard to fill with water (not if you are sober). I wouldn't have wasted my time writing this review if I didn't feel strongly about this product. I have had several flat bottom filter brewers and they are inefficient in that they require more ground coffee to make the same amount of brewed coffee and they are inconsistent in strength. Yes it has some design short comings but what do you want for 60 bucks. I use a paper filter which doesn't allow fine grounds to filter into the brewed coffee and may be a source of some of the complaints.

My criterion for a brewer when this was purchased was first it had to have a cone filter and second it had to be at least a 12 cup carafe. Don't be swayed by the negative reviewers that complain about the trivial issues like, I have to pull it out from under the cabinet to fill it with water. I must say the negative reviews of this product became a source of entertainment as I was reading through them. Happy brewing.

I purchased the DCC-1000BK coffeemaker in January of 2008. Needless to say, I am going to WalMart to purchase another coffee maker as soon as I get done here, and I know it doesn't matter to these big companies, but I will never purchase a Cuisinart product again. This time I was told that the original person I had talked with was a new employee and had given me the wrong information.

I called Cuisinart Customer Service and was told that they would ship me a new one and that I could use the box and packing that it came in to return the defective one. No offer to honor what I was originally told, not even to pay for shipping. It worked fine until 2 weeks ago when all of the buttons and burner stopped working.

Then I was told by both another person and her supervisor that I had to ship the defective one back first at my expense. I was told to return a copy of the original receipt along with a short note explaining the defect. 2 weeks later, I had not received it, so I called back again.

I use a coffee maker a lot, and this would mean another 2 to 3 weeks of winging it. Good luck if you purchase this piece of junk.Cuisinart DCC1000BK 12-Cup Coffeemaker, Black
